Hello, I'm Nick Moody.

I’m an independent artist based in Germany, working between large-scale murals and studio paintings.

My work focuses on landscapes—especially mountains and outdoor environments—and is shaped by travel, time spent outside, and specific places I return to again and again.

The Work

I’m drawn to landscapes—mountains, forests, and quiet natural spaces that feel calm and expansive. The work often includes a lone figure moving through these places, using scale and distance to give a sense of human presence.

Many pieces begin with places that left a lasting impression, sometimes from direct experience, sometimes developed further in the studio. Whether the work ends up on a wall or on canvas, the goal stays the same: translating the feeling of being there into something physical and lasting.

I’m less interested in trends or spectacle and more interested in consistency—building a body of work around landscape, scale, and place over time.

The Process

My process is deliberately simple. I work primarily with spray paint and acrylics, moving between loose structure and detail as the piece develops.

Scale changes the way a landscape behaves, but the approach stays consistent—whether I’m painting outdoors on a large wall or working in the studio on a single panel.

I return to similar subjects and formats intentionally, using repetition as a way to refine the work rather than constantly reinvent it.

The Journey

Milestones

2021

Becoming a Fulltime Artist

Years of nonstop travel had me jumping between art, cameras, business, and the outdoors without a clear direction.
When the world paused in 2021, I finally connected the pieces. I decided to build a career that uses all of it.

I started Nick Moody Art, taking on commissioned murals and documenting the process on YouTube.

2022

The Abandoned Factory

In 2022, my fellow artist Smoe Nova and I got official access to an abandoned bedding factory in our hometown of Warendorf. It became our creative playground—a place to paint murals freely, experiment without limits, and capture it all on video.
Having that kind of freedom whenever we wanted was a game-changer for developing my style and growing my channel.

2023

Joining the YIC Crew

In 2023, I was invited to join the YiC Crew, a graffiti and mural collective with one thing in common: Making YouTube videos.
Being part of the crew pushed me creatively and technically, exposed me to new styles and approaches, and gave me a network of artists who shared the same drive to create and document their work. Collaborating with them helped me level up both my murals and my content.

2024

Artists in Wonderland

Together with the YiC, I had the chance to represent Team Europe in YouTube’s biggest mural battle event—10 days of creative competition between five artists from Europe and five from the USA, all hosted at Ten Hundred’s legendary art studio in Michigan.

It’s incredible I get to create alongside some of the top artists in the field.

2025

The New Art Studio

In 2025, a big dream came true: I rented my own studio space after losing access to the old factory, which was being demolished.
This 180 m² warehouse gives me room to store my gear and materials, paint during the winter, plan and prep projects, film videos for my channel, and do everything I couldn’t fit into my previous spaces. It’s a place that finally lets me bring all parts of my work together under one roof.
