This creative challenge was started by my friend and fellow artist Smoe Nova, who invited art YouTubers from around the world to paint a self-portrait upside down—and document the process on video. I took part by painting my own upside-down self-portrait right next to his, inside our abandoned factory, where we painted lots of pieces together and on our own in recent years. It was a fun, disorienting twist that pushed us to rethink how we see ourselves—and how we paint.
