Art on Train, France

Art on Train, France

An old money train. A heatwave. Two artists in the French Alps.
In summer 2023, Smoe Nova and I hit the road for the Art on Train Festival—a one-of-a-kind event where artists are invited to legally paint retired train cars deep in the mountains of France.

Over the course of four scorching days, we turned a weathered armored money train into a cinematic scene: a robber on the run from a massive, pissed-off grizzly, both tearing through a mountainous landscape. It was the perfect mix of our styles—Smoe brought the graffiti heat, and I added one of my signature backpacker characters to carry the story forward.

The setting was surreal. Painting on steel in the middle of the Alps, surrounded by other insanely talented artists, pushed us in all the right ways. It was tough, sweaty, and wildly inspiring.

We documented the full experience across two videos on my channel and one on Smoe’s, capturing the process, the environment, and the madness of creating art in such an unusual place.

This wasn’t just another mural—this was storytelling on a moving relic of history.
